The 3rd Philippine International Pyromusical Competition

Fireworks has been part of the Christmas and New Year season. This coming year the 3rd Philippine International Pyromusical Competition is back again to feed our eyes with the most brightest event of the year!

Tea Talk

Had celebrated an early Christmas with friends at BF Homes, specifically at Cedars and ended up finding another place to eat and continue our chit chats. We were supposed to go at Drift Burgers but  entered Tea Talk, which was at the other opposite of the building. As milk tea lovers and we haven't tried Tea Talk, we got drinks which were different from each other so that we could have a taste of their different milk teas.

The interiors were very homey because of their lights, sofas and cushions.

Their milk tea prices ranges from PhP 80 for hot and this only comes in small size to PhP 100 for the  large one. There's only a PhP 10 difference from their regular size. Some of their flavors were unique like the peanut butter and roasted marshmallow.

Like other milk tea shops, you have to choose your drink, level of sweetness and sinkers.

From the upper right: Spiced Chai, Mocha, Almond, Roasted Marshmallow, Peanut Butter and Hazelnut. Their flavors were very distinct with each other and very tasty depending on your preference of flavor and sweetness level.

They also have some pastries on sale and I really liked their egg pie which is PhP 65 per slice. It was really so superbly delicious! They also have a loyalty card, where you should collect 10 large teas to get a free large tea of your choice. Did I mention that they also have a free Wi-Fi? c",)

Sumo Sam

Haven't eaten in any Marvin Agustin owned-restaurants, finally had tried Sumo Sam in Greenbelt 3 before accompanying my friends to watch Praybeyt Benjamin, although it was already my second time watching it. Actually, I didn't ordered anything because I was already full upon meeting them so I just taste test what they ordered. Since my two mother friends were on a diet, they only ordered salmon and Yakisoba. I really liked the salmon because it was so tender, appetizing and soft to chew.

Meralco: Liwanag Park

I was invited by my Uncle to go with them at the Robinson's Galleria to stroll or might go shopping for cheaper finds because they told me that Robinson's specially the department store could really offer a cheaper price than SM Department Store. After a half day stroll and a little shopping, we passed by the Meralco compound and saw this brightly lit building and everything inside was really bright. Since we were already near the vicinity, my Uncle decided to drop by and see the place since it was free for the public.

Tanduay Ice: Red Mirage and Blue Illusion

It's been a while since drinking alcohol was out of my system unless there are occasions to celebrate. It's my college's friend's birthday and we agreed to celebrate it with her in Makati but unfortunately she didn't had the chance to show up because according to her its flooded at their area she can't leave their house.

The Great Lifestyle Sale!

Soderno at Molito

Been telling my friends about Soderno since last week of October but it just opened last November 19, 2011. I really don't know when will I come to Soderno to experience it because we rarely go to Alabang, which we really think is farther than Makati or Taguig but this time to try something new, my friend drag me to go out on a Saturday night and suggested that we try Soderno.

Rai Rai Ken

Had a movie date with one of my close friend to watch Won't Last A Day Without You, but before watching, we agreed to have dinner first and tried Rai Rai Ken. Yes, its our first time to eat at Rai Rai Ken even though it was already operational since 1993 because we thought that this restaurant is expensive but to our surprise, they had something in store for us that we didn't expect. (We just didn't read their tarpaulin at their store window)

Revisiting CamSur!

After 8 hours of traveling by bus via Philtranco Bus, me and my officemates reached Naga. However, there's already an ordinance not allowing any bus to enter the plaza starting at 6am so we just went down at a gasoline station and be fetched by the caretaker of our manager's husband. They have their ancestral house here so we agreed to spend our long weekend in CamSur.

Bigg's Diner

I already heard this food chain rising within the Bicol region and also wanted to try and been curious to what it has to offer since as its slogan says that it has been "Serving Good Food Since 1983". Although it's not like the ever popular fast food giant like Jollibee, it also had something to be curious of try their food.

Ace Water Spa, Pasig

Got a promo vouchers on Cash Cash Pinoy for Ace Water Spa for my family and decided to try the newly operational branch in Pasig City since we already tried the Quezon City branch, which is very far from our place. The regular price was still for PhP 500, good for 4 hours of stay.

Shiok

Sunday is a Happy Lemon Day with my friends but this time we came earlier than 11pm and the Promenade in Greenhills was still open and haven't had our dinner yet so we decided to eat inside and tried Shiok. I already knew Shiok because they had their first branch in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig but had not tried it.

Pilipinas For Sale?

An office mate of mine told me that GMA's Reporter's Notebook will be featuring an expose regarding Philippines' natural resources which are allegedly for sale despite of the declaration of those resources as protected by the existing laws.

Sango! The Burger Master

A friend of mine asked me and some friends to accompany her to watch Glee: The 3D Concert Movie but only two, including me responded the invitation. We agreed to watch it at the Powerplant Mall since a Happy Lemon branch is within the area and it was my only 2nd time to be at Powerplant Mall. We were tricked that Happy Lemon is only up to 9pm, we rushed to the mall to get our dose of Happy Lemon with two drinks each ended up knowing that it was open up to 10pm. After that we bought our 10pm tickets then find a place to have our dinner before the movie starts.

Glee: The 3D Concert Movie

For all the gleeks out there, Glee: The 3D Concert Movie had finally arrived the theaters of Manila and all of the original cast was present minus the professors and guest artists. Sing your heart out from their famous songs and dance from their song covers.

Banapple Meals

At last, after I tried Banapple's cakes last year from their Ayala Triangle branch, this time I had the chance to try their rice meals in search for a place to go on a Monday night along Katipunan Avenue. I tried their mouth-watering Chicken Breast Parmigiano (PhP 185), which is a two and a half piece of chicken breast poured over with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese served with rice and carrots.

Chili's, Greenbelt 5

This was a long overdue post on Chili's for 2010 but decided to post it anyway to share what you could order here. Chili's had only four branches, this one I'm sharing with you is the Greenbelt 5 branch, the other 3 is in Greenhills, Tomas Morato and Rockwell. Me and my friends always eat here as a last resort not because its not great here, we just wanted to try other restaurants within the vicinity.

Swensen's

It was late for me to know that there's a 3-day sale at SM Mall of Asia last weekend. I still had the night to rush to the place to find some good things at a reduced price. I remembered that Swensen's just opened last September 15. (I missed their opening!) I also remembered when I went to Bangkok and just plainly window shopped at their Swensen's store there. Now, this is my chance to taste their ice cream and sundaes.

Pho Hoa Noodle Soup

Friday night and me and my friend was supposed to exchange our vouchers for the American Idol concert at the Araneta Coliseum since it was the last day of redemption but unfortunately, we didn't make it and decided to go to Eastwood instead for a great Happy Lemon experience. We already had our semi-dinner before going to Araneta but we were still hungry and can't decide where to eat.

Golden Fortune Seafood Restaurant

After discovering Wai Ying from a friend of a friend and eating there once in a while another restaurant was introduced to us, the Golden Fortune Seafood Restaurant. Unlike Wai Ying, they also have a shabu shabu style of eating and they have a promo from 9pm to 1am, 30% to 50% off from their usual prices during the day. They also have a promo during the merienda times from 2:30pm to 5pm.

Serenitea

(Wintermelon Milk Tea with 100% and Panna cotta , PhP 100)

Milk tea was heaven for me, it was a comfort drink that makes me relax and forgot all the problems of the world temporarily. Thanks to Chowking, which introduced me to the family of milk tea by having their Nai Cha. Milk tea in the Philippines had never been this good and it keeps getting better. I had tried Chatime, Happy Lemon, milk tea of Wai Ying and even the milk tea of Mine Shine before it got pulled out in all 711 stores but I think its back.

Chicken Charlie

Nowadays, double fried chicken sprung up like mushrooms everywhere in the metro and claiming to be the best compared to the usual fried chicken that fast food and 24 hours convenient stores offer. I already tried and tasted Bon Chon, Manang's Chicken, and Big Ben's. After seeing Chicken Charlie on Twitter, I was curious again to try what could they offer and see what makes it different from the other double fried chicken of its competitors.

Sen Lek Thai Noodles

I've been asking my friend to let us try this Sen Lek Thai Noodles near our place but we always end up at Dex n Mut, which is a much cheaper 'carinderia' style store with a restaurant at the side. But this time, he treated me here instead because he was curious of what he saw last night. The place was jammed-packed and everytime we passed by this place there are foreigners eating here.

Basix

At last, after 2 months of waiting to reserve at Basix, finally me and my family had tried eating here. It was supposed to be a Father's Day and birthday celebration but we have to move it since the reservations at Basix was always full during weekends.

Happy Lemon

We were already in the Greenhills area after eating at Charlie's Grind & Grill so we took a chance if the Happy Lemon in Promenade was still open since it was Sunday night and the usual operating hours of merchants were 10am to 10pm only but fortunately they are still open until the wee hours of the night even on Sundays.

Charlie's Grind & Grill

It was Sunday and I was craving for a food trip and blame it all to the show Man vs Food, three of my friends including me were also on a hunt for a night out just to chill and relax. We were just supposed to BF Homes in Parañaque since there were a lot of food choices there but suddenly I remember we were craving for a milk tea and was targeting Serenitea. But for a change, we agreed to go to Uncle Moe's in Ortigas.

New System for NBI Clearance

Saturday, July 16 morning it is when I planned to 'renew' my NBI clearance for my work requirements. I was very disappointed to know that the contract between the third party of NBI, who is responsible for its computerization program expired last June. Now, the barcode scanned NBI clearances issued  for 30 years were all worthless for renewal and even those who had their NBI cards were also void.

Chatime

I usually passed by Chatime when I walk through the Landmark bridge beside French Baker and it usually have long queues because people are curious on what Chatime could offer since the tea and fruit juices here in the Philippines is at its boom.

Banchetto Megatent

It was a Friday night when I was craving for the food in Banchetto, I convinced my friend to drive here in Ortigas since we rarely go here because of the proximity of the place to our home. Mercato is much nearer to us. Sad to read about what happened to the infamous Banchetto Emerald. Please bring it back to its original location!

Swensen's invades Manila!

I was in SM Mall of Asia with a friend finding Karate Kid to have dinner there after work but I was surprised that beside Karate Kid was this huge tarpaulin, Swensen's is opening their first branch in SM Mall of Asia soon.

Caffe Ti-Amo

The newest acquired restaurant or should I say gelato and coffee shop of Jollibee Corporation was Caffe Ti-Amo. Jollibee Corporation gave up Deli France for this new comer in the Philippines, which was already famous in South Korea. The battle of the yummiest gelato was just getting bigger and bigger so the people must have their say on who's the good, better and the best.

Corniche

A friend of mine was in town for her 12-day vacation in the Philippines so I suggested to have a late night dinner buffet at Corniche. I have to call for reservations since they could only accommodate 180 people per night. But when I called, the lady told me that the slot for June 10 was already full but I was persistent since my friend was already leaving the country next week so I placed my reservations for 6 on the wait list and I was 2nd in line.

Krazy Garlik, Greenbelt 5

My friend and I always passed by this restaurant whenever we watch movies at Greenbelt 1. Since we always eat at TGI Friday's because of the great food and ambiance, we decided to try Krazy Garlik. As for me this would be heaven because I really like spices, especially garlic. This place was already featured in a TV show because of their main ingredient.

Cyma, Greenbelt 2

On a search for a never been eaten here restaurant and something unusual, my friend and I tried to choose between Red Crabs, Marciano's, Rockefeller and Conti's in the array of restaurants in Greenbelt. The first three doesn't have any bottomless drinks so we went to Conti's but it was already almost 10pm and they were already closing. Lucky for us, we passed by Cyma and good thing they are open till 12mn so we decided to try something Mediterranean, something Greek! We have been wanting to eat here but always ended up to try something else thinking that the food here were really that expensive because its Greek but we almost tried everything in Greenbelt and Cyma is one of the few which still remains in our must try restaurants.

Cafe d'Asie

This was supposed to be my Mother's Day treat for my family but due to the conflict of schedules, this was delayed two weeks after Mother's Day. The only available date for all of us is a weekday night so after office hours we had our dinner at the Cafe d'Asie, which is located at the 2nd floor of the Bellevue Hotel in Alabang.

Cafe Sol

This is the only restaurant at the Terrazas de Punta Fuego, which is only a part of the Club Punta Fuego. Other restaurants were San Diego, Il Jardineto, Member's Lounge and Barracuda Bar but all are accessible only by its regular members and associate members.

Terrazas de Punta Fuego

Summertime and I can't believe that I would be lucky to visit a beach at this time of the year since I'm not yet entitled to have a leave. My only time to have a vacation was the weekends or if had a chance during long weekends. To my surprise, our office had a summer outing to this place in Nasugbu, Batangas called the Terrazas de Punta Fuego, which is a members-only residential beach resort. A big thanks to one of our clients for letting us to experience this wonderful place.

Bag of Beans, Tagaytay

Holy week it was and Visita Iglesia was a tradition, my friends and I decided to have our Visita Iglesia in Tagaytay. And because of our long journey going to Tagaytay because we got lost and waited for the more than 1 hour traffic along the national road, we ended up finding a place to have our dinner. We all agreed to eat at Bag of Beans.

Fernbrook Gardens

How fortunate I am when I was asked to attend to a wedding even though either the bride nor the groom knows me or even related to me. The sister of the bride was my officemate that's why. The church and the reception was held at the Fernbrook Gardens in Las Piñas. It was my first time to see the place although I've already heard it the name through a friend.

Mr Jones, Greenbelt 5

On a hunt to a place where my friend and I could have dinner, we agreed to try Mr Jones. We often pass by this area if we're from Greenbelt 1 after watching a movie. The place was so inviting because of its diner appeal. We also noticed that the owner might be fond of diamonds because of its interior decorations are mostly diamond-shaped. See the mirrors above?

Potato Twisters

There's a new fad or maybe should I say a different twist on everyone's favorite potato. It was still fried but the way it was cut and presented was in a swirl way. It was still like potato chips with added powdered flavor so there's no something special on it. The way it was presented and served was inviting though.

Miley Cyrus Live in Manila!

The famous girl who is also known as 'Hannah Montana' and the singer behind the songs, 'The Climb' and 'Party in the USA' will invade Manila for the very first time and her concert is called 'The Gypsy Heart Tour' (also known as the Corazon Gitano Tour). It was originally for her concert tour in South America and Australia but had a stopover in the Philippines. Philippines is the only country she will perform in Asia!

Army Navy: Burger + Burrito

I first saw this Army Navy in Tagaytay but didn't have the chance to tried it until recently. I had the chance to try the Glorietta 5 branch even though there's a newly opened Army Navy in our area down south. The place was always full but I'm not sure if it is because it was just something new or the people wanted the food on how it taste.

Caramia Gelateria: Banana Blast

Before the gelato was only incorporated to Amici's menu but now it has its own brand which is the Caramia Gelateria. The only stall they have before was at the Don Bosco canteen and a booth in Waltermart Makati. Now, every branch of Amici, there is also a Caramia Gelateria.

Amici: Cannelloni Agli Spinaci

I've eaten at the original Amici in Don Bosco when it was not yet evolved as what is Amici had now become. From a simple laid back canteen setting to a fine dining setting, Amici indeed was developed into more attractive venue for the Italian food lovers or simply wants something not usual.
