Bangkok: Amarin Plaza

The Amarin Plaza is one of the malls in Bangkok, near the Pratunam area. It was like a museum from the outside because of its stylish exterior and huge pillars. It was a five- storey building but people doesn't frequent the place maybe because of its posh-like environment, style and approach. I'm not sure if the stores here are branded but I think it is.

Bangkok: Wat Tri Mit Wit Thayaram

Wat Tri Mit Wit Thayaram is one of the famous temple here in Bangkok, oh well almost all of the temples in Bangkok are famous and they are everywhere literally. This temple was made with solid white marble and gold. It was like a palace rather than a temple because of its marvelous structure.

An entrance fee of 40 Baht could be paid at the side of this temple but the fee was an honesty policy there because no one checks if you are paid for the ticket or not.

Here is the break down list of its architectural parts and design. Upon entering, you may get a shoe bag from the rack because you have to leave your foot wear at the door before entering the Golden Buddha statue then return the bag when you are done.

These are intricate designs, which could be found at the side of the 3 level. These are made from brass and it is huge! There is also a museum located here but we aren't sure if there's a separate fee for that.

Lady monks are also seen here, where they worship and say their prayers. They were like the ones seen from the movies, which could fly because of their powers.

Inside was a golden Buddha, which was 5 tons or more. It's really made from genuine gold. Donations are dropped through the vault. Other Buddhist statues and huge vases are also displayed.

There was also another temple beside it, which has also an awesome architecture! c",)

Bangkok: Wat Arun

Wat Arun is one of the most visited temple in Bangkok because of its proximity to the other temples and it is located at the Chao Phraya River, closer to the city centre. You could go here by riding a ferry from the Grand Palace.

Upon arriving, doves would welcome you, which you could also feed for 10 Baht per bag of feeds. We are also surprised by the big cat fishes on the river. I think they are also catching the bird feeds.

The plaza is free to roam around, just don't take pictures with the pop-out-your-head board because doing so would cost you 50 Baht when using it. There are also costume per rent for picture purposes.

The entrance fee for Wat Arun is 50 Baht when you will enter the gate proper or if you want to climb up.

The roof architecture is so dazzling fantastic!

From afar, it seems that is was only small but when you walk through the gates, it was really huge! We haven't got a chance to go up because it started raining really hard on the day we went there.

The design was so intricate and really extravagant. They see to it that the temple was kept clean and even the details are preserve like it was newly made.

At the back of Wat Arun are the funeral place where people could attend to the wake of a dead person. According to our tour guide, the bodies are burned by the river after this.

If you want snacks within the area, there is this noodle cart beside the Wat Arun, which costs 35 Baht per order. Above is a noodles with fish toppings and below is with the fried chicken toppings. Beverages here are quite expensive for 30 Baht per can of softdrinks, tea or water.

Souvenir shops are also located at the side of Wat Arun, they are quite expensive buying here compared to the ones selling at Pratunam or other night markets. c",)

Bangkok: Side Street Dining

Right after we landed from the airport and going to our hotel, we are definitely hungry but we arrived at the wee hours of the day. Fortunately, side street dining was still open to feed our hungry tummies.

I don't know what they call it here because there are many combinations you could choose from. You could choose from broad or narrow rice noodles, soup broth, chicken, beef or pork for the toppings and on the level of spiciness for your noodles. Servings are just right and could make you full and what else? They are affordable for 30 to 45 Baht only, depending on the toppings.

This noodles comes with fish balls and usually comes with bean sprouts, spring onions and coriander. Condiments are also available at your table, which comes with fish sauce, chili flakes, chili oil and sugar.

This is the famous Pad Thai, which is considered as one of Thailand's national dish. This is made from broad rice noodles, eggs, bean sprout, shrimp and lime juice, cooked stir-fried. Chili flakes are packed separately for your discretion. This is definitely a must-try! Yummy!

After seeing these from the Travel channel, its not hard to find them on the streets of Thailand. What am I talking to? The edible insects! From the left side, there was the grasshoppers, then the millipedes and the black ones are some beetles.

Out of curiosity, we tried a handful of grasshoppers. Locals eat it here so we have to try it. You just have to remove those thorny legs for easier munching. They tasted like fried shrimps or famously known as 'okoy'.

These are their street version of churros but instead of chocolate, they offer a pandan dipping.

They are fried-dough pastry-based snacks. They knead it right from their carts and fry them to perfection.

You could also choose from the X pattern or the round ones.

I was also curious about this because I saw a soft tofu or 'taho' and gave it a try for 10 Baht.

This is a kind of drink here which is made from soya milk, tapioca, dragon fruit seeds and sugar. I wonder where is that soft tofu? c",)

Bangkok Palace Hotel

Bangkok Palace Hotel is a 3 star hotel which has a good location because it was near a highway, a train station and malls are pretty much a 10 to 15 minute walk. It is near the Makkasan Railway Station and Ratchaprarop City Link Station. Beside it was the Ramada Hotel and Eastin Hotel.

Bangkok: Suvarnabhumi Airport

The Suvarnabhumi Airport is the new international airport in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand. Previously, the only aiport was the Don Muang Airport, which is now catering for Thailand's domestic flights.

The new aiport was so spacious and its industialized look and minimalist design was spectacular.
