Mayfair Neapolitan Milk Chocolate

Its been years since me and my mom had walked through the aisles of The Landmark's Supermarket where we used to buy our groceries but gone are the days when malls and nearby supermarkets spouted like mushrooms close to our place. I could still reminisce where we could just pick up anything and just place it in our push carts, then eat at their food court afterwards.

Good thing they had renovated their Makati branch and its even better than before in terms of the choices for goods. I was really happy to be back and be a child again until I saw this chocolate from my past.

I could still remember this chocolate from my childhood from what it looks and tastes like but already forgot its name. There it is Mayfair's Neapolitan Milk Chocolate. I just recognized it by looking at the  chocolate featured on its box, the chocolate with a monkey sketched at its center.

During my childhood days, its former box was a flat rectangular box where the colors of its wrapper was laid flat on each other. It comes with three colors as I remember, the red one which is the milk chocolate with some rice crisps, the orange one, which had an orange flavor on it and the blue one, the one with the rose on its wrapper, which is the classic milk chocolate. All comes with an animal sketched on its center.

Today, even if was labeled as an assorted chocolate, they all just taste the same as their classic milk chocolate flavor, their orange and rice crisps flavors were already gone and would just a remain a memory from the past. c",)

Chihuahua Mexican Grill & Margarita Bar

It has been 4 months ago since the last time I blogged, been busy and tired after work which made me decide to just go home and sleep. I have been saving for a much awaited year-ender trip! I already missed wandering around to the places I've been and more to the places waiting to be discovered by myself.

Vikings

It's been my dad's birthday around the corner so my family and I decided to leave ourselves from work and just relax and celebrate his birthday. I already planned having our dinner at Robotosan but postponed it the last minute when my office mate told me that Vikings had a promo for the birthday celebrants up to September this year. Too bad it won't be applicable to my birthday!

Snow Patrol: Fallen Empires Tour

The Venetian Market

Acaci

It was a rainy night when our scheduled dinner buffet took place at Acaci, Acacia Hotel Manila's own buffet restaurant. Acacia Hotel Manila was the newest hotel in Alabang, which opened its doors last October 2011. This dinner was my Mother's Day celebration with my family!

Makan Makan Asian Food Village

Finally, I've been longing to go here and try this restaurant, which was originally called Makansutra, just like in Singapore, which serves different kinds of Asian cuisine famous from its different country of origin. Maybe they have changed its name because they already changed its original concept, which you'll have to line up to order, pay then have a seat. Plus, from all the reviews about their poor service after the soft opening.

Now, the concept was have a seat reservation first from the restaurant's entrance then choose from their menu then the food is served after some minutes.

I had to choose what to eat since my parents were not that adventurous enough to try unusual foods but be willing to break the norm.

Nasi Goreng with Satay (Php 160), which is a just a simple fried rice topped with egg, a famous food from Indonesia.

Fried Coffee Spareribs (Php 390), sounding unusual and tempting, we have to try this and it was their best-seller!

Sambal Squid (Php 290), good that their squid is not rubbery and was easy to chew.

I was supposed to order 'Black and White', which is a milk tea with black gelatin hence getting its name to honor Michael Jackson's song but it was not available that time. I just got this Bandung, which is a milk drink with rose syrup making it pink. I had tasted this in Singapore and I really loved it.

Compared to Makansutra in Singapore, I think there are still a lot of improvements space to this although they had already introduced the food from different neighboring Asian countries like Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, the authentic flavors shouldn't be missing. c",)

Zark's Burger

Zark's Burgers! I just heard this newly opened burger store in BF Homes, which has an interesting attack on its burgers. They promote their burgers as fresh, huge and great, which the common local burger joints doesn't have on their branding anymore because they were already famous but failed to be the best when it comes to their servings unlike the good old times where burgers where really been looked forward to not just for their flavor but also for their size.

The Cafe Mediterranean: Kofta Gyro

My friend and I was going to watch a movie but before that we're finding a place to eat our dinner and agreed to try The Cafe Mediterranean at the Greebelt 1, which was their first branch and had a great ambiance even the space was only limited.

I tried this, Kofta Gyro (PhP 110). The Kofta balls were meat balls made from beef and lamb wrapped in pita bread. It really tasted awesome. I wanted to order more but the movie will start early so we might just com back soon. c",)

Tokyo Bubble Tea

This is our second attempt on trying Tokyo Bubble Tea, which was recommended by our good friend while he was here at the Burgos Circle last week. On our first attempt, they were already closed but I admit it we arrived there around 2am. The place was really bright from the outside. Parking in front of it was not allowed anymore since according to the roving guards the residents from the surrounding buildings were already complaining.

Love Desserts

After seeing this restaurant from one of the Valentine episodes of Rated K and Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, our cravings for something sweet didn't stopped us from finding this place even if its not Valentines Day anymore. We didn't find this place right away since the Banawe Street was really a long stretch but with a persistent curiosity for this, we found it!

Panzarotti

I often go to Mercato for late unplanned weekend stroll with my friends and its really evolving every now and then. Some of the stalls were still there from the time Mercato was launched and some already bidded goodbye to the night market goers. I miss the Baklava dessert that used to be sold here by the Turkish owner.

Solenad, Nuvali

Nuvali is the new development of Ayala Land at the South of Manila. It is almost a 2 hectare land property, which is a former sugar plantation owned by the Yulo's. My relatives used to live here since they worked for the Yulo's before. They described this land as a peaceful and wealthy land where everything was provided by the Yulo's, whereas they have their own cinemas and recreation facilities within the compound but gone are the good days because of certain changes of time.

Magnum: Almond

I already knew Magnum from the pictures at the Internet from different countries before it reaches the local market of Manila. Now, that everybody wants to have a taste of what's buzzing from different social medias and from its TV commercial that would make you feel like a royal. I gave in to the craze.

Arabela (Camello's Bakehaus and Coffee Shop)

My manager was raving about this restaurant in Liliw, Laguna, which serves great and delicious food with value for your money. As for me, I've never been to Liliw, I only heard this place from my classmate during college who sells slippers coming from this place. Unike Marikina, that specializes shoes, Liliw specializes mainly on slippers but already making and selling shoes too.

Bato Spring Resort, San Pablo, Laguna

San Pablo is the only city blessed with seven lakes but aside from that, it was also gifted with natural spring like the Bato Spring Resort. Nestled on the road going to Dolores, Quezon, this hidden natural wonder didn't failed us to be amazed and be refreshed by its invigorating cold waters.

Capones Island

Capones Island was one of the two islands near Anawangin and Pundaquit. Like Anawangin, there's no electricity here but there's already network signal. The shape of the landscape was like a crocodile head, a baboon's head or a shoe, whatever your imagination takes you. This place was kinda inhabited because here you could find the lighthouse, which was centuries old like any other lighthouse in the Philippines.

Anawangin Cove, Zambales

Anawangin Cove was a secret hide away for campers and mountain hikers before it became famous for its unusual growth of 'pine trees' along its shore, for its crystal clear water and white sands. Besides from that a picture perfect landscape of the rocky mountains surrounding it, which makes it isolated from the technology of humans.

19th Travel Expo 2012!

I had never been to a travel expo before and this year I really wanted to see what could it offer to the public whose feet likes to wander and explore the world beyond their own. Unfortunately, I just had a free time to go here on their last day and I don't know what to expect. Travel expo would definitely be a hit in our country. The Philippines, blessed with so many islands to explore and beaches to discover and for being the top ASEAN country which had the most number of holidays, locals and even foreigners would have more time to relax and travel.

Gram's Diner

Me and my friends was supposed to watch the musical 'Mamma Mia' at CCP but we still don't have any tickets and unfortunately, the cheapest ticket was already sold-out and the only remaining tickets   are worth Php 3,000. Being that expensive, we all agreed to cancel watching the play but had a plan B right away, which is to watch a movie instead.

Isdaan, Calauan, Laguna

I've been to Isdaan in Gerona, Tarlac and it was really beautiful and indeed a unique way of attracting customers and have a one of a kind dining experience. An officemate of mine goes to her province in Dolores and passes by the national highway of Laguna then she saw this, Isdaan in Calauan, Laguna. After our planned adventure at Villa Escudero, we planned to have dinner here. She had been to this place during a weekday so she wanted to try see it at night.

Bonete Bread

Pandesal? Nope. Its called the 'Bonete'. It is San Pablo, Laguna's pride when it comes to this bread even it is smaller than pandesal its popularity for the locals was enormous because of its special taste that once you've tried it, I'll bet you'll have another piece or even the whole bag.

Villa Escudero Plantations and Resort

I have never been to Villa Escudero but been hearing this a lot whenever an OFW relative arrives. I wonder, what's with Villa Escudero? Is it like Hacienda Luisita in Tarlac with a mall, hotel, or village? Oh well, one picture led me to this place and thanks for my friends who wanted to go here too and to experience what's within the picture below.

Cake Planet and Cafe

There's a buzz about this coffee house from some of my friends who've been here and tried their mouthwatering cakes. Me and my friends had already tried this coffee house before, it was called Big Kat's Coffee House back then, closed for a certain period and re-opened as The Cake Planet and Cafe now.

TEAM Bee turns 3!

February 6, 2009 since I started TEAM Bee, inspired by the travelers and food trippers on the cyberspace as a hobby. I never knew anything about blogging since then but I insisted on having my own. I never expected to be blogging up to now since I'm also busy with my life struggles but still I'm here, sharing my life adventures, sharing our country and fortunately the world.

Jamba Juice invades Manila!

After driving ourselves to Share Tea in San Juan, me and my friend agreed to try Jamba Juice in BHS Central since we still have an hour before it closes at 1am. When we arrived there were no customers but according to the server, it was plenty during the day.

Another first for the Philippines again since this is Jamba Juice's first branch in Southeast Asia, making it their fourth country of existence after US, Canada and South Korea. It really fascinates me whenever a new store opens in the Philippines launching it as their first branch in Asia and the like. Good news that investors and businessmen see the Philippines as a very competitive and viable market compared to any other Asian countries.

Share Tea

For all the milk tea lovers, again here's another hub for us, an addition to the milk tea shops in our list in our country. Introducing, Share Tea from Taipei. They claim that all of their drinks were made from the finest ingredients and that their drinks were all fresh, natural and healthy.

Subspace Coffee House

An officemate of mine saw this coffee house from her friend's photos in Facebook and was amazed by the shop's interiors and was curious to try their Purple Potato Latte, which we both never heard before and doesn't exist with any other coffee houses for now.

Krazy Garlik, Newport Mall

It was my parents anniversary and I really don't know where we were going to. I suggested that we eat at P.F. Changs or in Binondo but my father just took us for a ride and never told us where we were headed to. Close enough, we were brought to Newport Mall. Finding a place to eat somewhere we had never been eaten to. My father, being a garlic fan, wanted to try Krazy Garlik. I told them that I already had eaten there once at their Greenbelt 5 branch, but its their night and I don't want to spoil it.

White Beach, Puerto Galera 6 years After!

As I have said, its been six years ago since I stepped at the sands of White Beach, Puerto Galera and wondering if there were some or major changes that happened here or just stayed the same 6 years ago. But for sure nothing escapes from the possibility of change.

Food Trip sa Galera

Upon arrival at the White Beach, we were looking for a place to have our breakfast, choosing along the numerous stalls along the walkway, we saw a tarpaulin which says 'Unlimited Rice' and we all agreed to eat here but before arriving at other end of White Beach we saw another restaurant, which also had 'Unlimited Rice' but this time they also offer Unlimited  Garlic Rice'.

Palangan Bay View Beach Resort

It had been 6 years ago the last time I went to Puerto Galera with my highschool friends. This year because of Cleverbuy, I was able to visit this place again. My officemates booked us a 3 days 2 nights stay for PhP 2,400, good for 2. We were all excited but worried because we never been to other beaches of Puerto Galera besides the White Beach.

Gong Cha

Treated myself the whole day of the Saturday by strolling at the mall and eating at my favorite comfort food Sbarro! Had my very late lunch at 4pm but still early to have dinner so I decided to finally try Gong Cha located at the Food Choices.

Tao Yuan Restaurant

It's my mother's birthday and wanted to celebrate it in Resorts World. There are various restaurants here that offers different kinds of cuisine but we always agree to Chinese food, Tao Yuan Restaurant. I wanted to try Red Crabs, Crisostomo or Mr Kurosawa but no luck. Oh well, we need to settle to a place right away since we were all hungry. Maybe next time.

Alma De Cuba Latin Grill & Cantina

It was the first day of the year when me and my friends decided to see each other and welcome the new year together. As usual, we headed to the south to just chill, share stories and play Pinoy Henyo all night until my friend's phone goes on battery empty. Almost all of the restaurants were already closed and we don't want to drink since there will be work tomorrow.
