Palangan Bay View Beach Resort

It had been 6 years ago the last time I went to Puerto Galera with my highschool friends. This year because of Cleverbuy, I was able to visit this place again. My officemates booked us a 3 days 2 nights stay for PhP 2,400, good for 2. We were all excited but worried because we never been to other beaches of Puerto Galera besides the White Beach.

When we reached the Batangas port, I never knew that there were already some additional fees riding the boat. PhP 50 for the environmental fee and PhP 30 for the terminal fee. The boat costs PhP 250 one way and PhP 450 two way. Beware of the 'fixers' at the ticket booths because they were really annoying and won't stop talking to you until you buy from their respective booths but don't worry they won't ask for a single centavo from you.

We arrived at the White Beach to have our breakfast since our check-in time was at 11am. We ate at Food Trip sa Galera then went to find a tricycle to Muelle Port (locals say it as 'Mul-Ye')since that was the only free pick up point of Palangan Bay View Resort. The tricycle's asking price was PhP 300 but we declined at first since it was too expensive but the driver lowered it to PhP 200 making it PhP 50 each so we hopped in. We asked the driver to dropped us at the market, few meters away from the Muelle Port.

A small truck like this fetched us from the market. We thought that the resort was located at the Sabang beach since it was advertised by Cleverbuy that it was located there but it wasn't. It was located in one of the island's bay-like cove near Muelle Port.

There's the sea water but unfortunately there were no sand along the shore. The lot owners along the shore just made a road leading to their houses. Upon seeing the location of the resort, we all agreed to just stay here for one night only and just forfeit the remaining one night since the beach and the people were all at the White Beach and the costs of the transportation going back and forth here was not pocket-friendly.

Good thing I asked my officemate who booked for us to call the resort one day before our trip for the final updates of our stay because upon talking to the resort owner, we were surprised that we were not yet booked after months of reserving our slots.

We were given this room complete with soap and shampoo but only one towel and one blanket. The TV was not cabled and the reception was quite blurred.

A breakfast was included in our deal worth PhP 100 and we only got this small serving plus a small cup of coffee or hot chocolate. Since we are just staying here for a night, we asked if we could already take our breakfast for the next day and the food server said yes so we ordered another 'silog'.

This is one of their swimming pools just in front of our rooms. We just took a dip here before going to sleep because we were too tired to settle down.

This was their second swimming pool, newer and with slide located above the resort since they were located below a hill. Too bad they bulldozed a part of the hill to make way for these rooms instead of building more rooms and pool from their remaining lots.

The 3rd floor was still on the process and the owners were planning to put up a disco dance floor and a mini theater for the kids since there were no other activities to do at their resort.

The view was great and spectacular plus the sea wind was cool, even the resort was very accommodating and the resort owners were really hands-on in entertaining their guests but the location of the resort was only for the people who wants serenity and wants to spend their vacation on a calm and peaceful environment.

A plus factor was there's a videoke machine free to use for their clients and a billiards table. There's also a promo that if you get their 5 family rooms, you'll get a free 1 whole roasted boar. There were a family of boars which freely roams from their open lots.

The owners also made a pavilion-like structure in front of their resort along the shore where you could spend  just beach bumming along the bay view or take a dip to the sea with their enclosed beach swimming area. The turn down factor was the accumulation of trash along the coasts of the bay. Would you still want to swim with all of those trashes?

There were some other guests too when we check-in here but we thought at first that we were the only one staying here because of its location. Maybe other guests availed their Cleverbuy vouchers too or just simply want some more quieter place to stay.

When we check-out, two of their guests were going to the White Beach, where we were headed too so we hopped-in to their mini truck. Another resort being promoted by Cleverbuy was the Villa Fernandez, which was one of Palangan Bay View Resort's neighbor.

Overall, the service was great, the servings were too small, the resort was nice but we were after the people, food, noise and the sand along the beach. c",)
