Alma De Cuba Latin Grill & Cantina

It was the first day of the year when me and my friends decided to see each other and welcome the new year together. As usual, we headed to the south to just chill, share stories and play Pinoy Henyo all night until my friend's phone goes on battery empty. Almost all of the restaurants were already closed and we don't want to drink since there will be work tomorrow.

We wanted to try the other restaurants along Aguirre Avenue and found this one still open. The Alma De Cuba Latin Grill & Cantina. Sounds interesting and left with no other choice so we dined in. The place was so spacious for more customers but we were the only people who arrived late for dinner. Good thing that day, they were open until 1am.

Their menu had only few dishes to choose from but interesting to try since there were only few restaurants who offer "Latin" dishes although most of them were already familiar to us. There were five us so we ordered different dishes each to give ourselves a chance to taste what they offer.

One ordered this: Garlic and Cheese Quesadilla (I'm not sure of the name, sorry :) It tasted great, sorry but I'm a garlic fan! It goes well with the cheese and salsa.

Two of them ordered Chicken Fingers with Potato Wedges. Chicken was soft to chew and wedges were fun to go with it.

The forth one ordered a Chicken Burrito since he was craving for Mirage that night but it was closed. The serving was really big that it almost cross the diameter of the plate. Wondering what's inside? Grilled chicken, some rice and veggies.

Here's what I ordered, since it was my first time eating here, I want something special and big. I was supposed to order Baked Cuban Herbed Chicken but as usual it was out of stock. So I just got this Grilled Pork Steak (PhP 195). It comes with 'Cuban rice', some beans and potato wedges. I love their rice because it was tangy and delicious. The pork was just right and not that rubbery to chew. The beans was a bonus too!

We just got water for the drinks but overall their food were yummy and good thing it comes in huge servings plus their price was not that expensive.

Happy New Year! c",)
