Golden Fortune Seafood Restaurant

After discovering Wai Ying from a friend of a friend and eating there once in a while another restaurant was introduced to us, the Golden Fortune Seafood Restaurant. Unlike Wai Ying, they also have a shabu shabu style of eating and they have a promo from 9pm to 1am, 30% to 50% off from their usual prices during the day. They also have a promo during the merienda times from 2:30pm to 5pm.

Since a friend of mine had eaten here already several times, he recommended this place for us newbies and we never regret it even though this place was really far from our place. The setting was like a fine dining restaurant with a wall of aquariums with fresh variety of fishes to choose from. Everyone eating there were Chinese when we arrived there around 12 midnight.

We proceed directly to the dimsum area where the remaining dimsums for the night were showcased for the last time for the day. We got the century egg siomai, spare ribs, lobster siomai and the taro siomai. Those spare ribs were really great! I remember ordering those from Le Ching of Greenhills.

We also got some raddish cakes to compare it with the raddish cakes of Wai Ying. The difference was Golden Fortune's raddish cakes includes shredded bits of chorizo. Yummy!

We got their Lamb Combination Platter for our shabu shabu just to relieve ourselves from the usual pork, chicken and seafood combination. This comes with kang kong, tofu, taro, corn cobs and fish balls.

My friend got an additional cheese balls which is according to him was really addictive and yummy.

The cooking begins!

Wondering why there's a division in our hot pot? Because we got 2 types of soup, the soup from the top was satay and the bottom was just the ordinary soup. The satay soup was more flavorful.

The cheese balls were really addictive. Too bad, we went there before closing time and we were the last customers that night. We asked if we could order the cheese balls frozen so that we could have those at home and the answer was yes, although the price would be still the same.

They also have crocodile and ostrich meats if you like some exotic cuisine.

We wish to order more dimsums but all the dimsums were sold out. We would definitely go back here soon! c",)
