A friend of mine really liked Taco Bell but the nearest branch to our place was in Cubao. I wanted to go food-tripping on a Saturday night and suggested to try Ristras since it was like Taco Bell, which serves burritos, nachos and everything-like-that.
Many people frequent that place. However, the parking lot was so limited to not more than 10 cars, which is also shared by Joey Pepperoni and Malcom's Burger so better be early or if you are willing to wait, its your choice. Here's how to order. Choose a dish-style from the left side of the board either burrito, fajita burrito, naked burrito, chimichanga, quesadilla, salad, tacos or taco truck taco. Descriptions for each are written on the leaflets.
Then choose your meat. The price of your meal would depend on which kind of meat you are going to pick. Unfortunately, when we visited the place, the only choices left are Cabeza (Php 330), which are Ox cheeks and Grilled Chicken (Php 320). I would not recommend Cabeza because the ox cheeks are like thick pork skin and not chewable. Also be an observant, they might offer you this one instead of your choice because I think this is rarely ordered by their customers.
Choose your veggies or you may opt to choose everything on it.
The preparation of your meal is made right in front of you so you could be aware of some anomalies if there are some. Like after the meal was already wrapped within the foil then accidentally it was dropped on the floor, the crew replaced the meal right away with a new one.
Just add Php 90 if you want your meal wet and flamed, which is only available for burrito and chimichanga.
Ta-da! This is the finish product and it was so enticing! This is the wet burrito with Cabeza and everything on it. I think the meal is good for two but if you have a big appetite, this one is great for you! It was really a heavy meal and full of carbo because of the rice, beans, corn and tortilla.
The burrito comes with a whole whet or flour Tortilla, cilantro-lime rice of chorizo brown rice, pinto or vegetarian black beans, red or green chili, meat, pico de gallo, corn salsa, guacamole, cheddar/jack cheese, sour cream and romaine lettuce.
Here is the chimichanga, which is the same with burrito, the only difference is the tortilla is deep fried, in this case, it was flamed.
For the drinks, the bottled water is worth Php 50 if don't want to try their tamarind iced tea for Php 125, which is really good. They also offer local, Mexican and specialty beers.
The people from the counter was accommodating and servers are great but they tend to forget to serve you their drinks if they told you that it will be just served. I have to follow it up.
Before I end this post, I would like to share to you their accent wall, which is full of dried chilies and their ping-pong like light bulbs. c",)
