Piazza at Venice: Tokyo Cafe

Me and my friends were about to go Bonifacio High Street for a stroll but turned right before reaching the area and landed at the Piazza at Venice in Taguig. We are really undecided to where we would have our dinner since almost all of the restaurants here are new and since all of us haven't tried Tokyo Cafe, we checked that place.

From its name, we are expecting some Japanese food here but when we had a glance of the menu, the food that they offer was pasta, sandwiches, salads, crepes and of course coffee from the name of its store. Seems that everything was common, however, meals are done in Japanese style. Though we wanted to try everything, we could only choose one because we might be full if we had more.

From the menu pictures, the meals were really appetizing but when that actual food was serve, you could really tell the difference although that great taste was still there.

My friend ordered this Unaju (PhP 390), which is a pan-fried eel fillet topped with caramelized soy sauce over rice. It comes with a salad on the tray. This was really juicy because of the Japanese fermented soy sauce used and was like mimicking the taste of nori.

Another friend ordered Garlic Cream Hamburg (PhP 205), which is a juicy beef burger patty topped with creamy garlic sauce. This was tasted like the burger rice meal of Jollibee, only having the patties bigger and more juicier.

And my order was the Wafu Steak (PhP 295), which is beef tenderloin cubes sauteed in garlic and oyster sauce. At first I though the beef was rubbery like a gum but it was manageable to chew. The first bite was like it was spicy but would disappear after further chewing.

The Garlic Cream Hamburg and the Wafu Steak doesn't come with a rice so we had one each for PhP 38. The rice itself was great that I had to order another one for myself.

There are lots of restaurants to try here. My Thai and Red Crabs are still on my lists and other new ones in the food industry. c",)
