Every year since the Earth Hour started last 2007 in Australia, created a ground-breaking records on most country, town, cities and people who participated on the said event. Last 2010 alone in the Philippines, a record-breaking 1,076 towns, cities and municipalities joined the rest of the world in this support for mother nature from the 647 cities and municipalities, who participated in 2009.
From 10 million Filipinos to 15 million, even the sponsors who supported the event was also doubled making the Filipinos 1st again throughout the world in terms of local participation for 2 consecutive years.
People now are aware of what is happening around and how these changes could affect us but it should not be stopped in just doing lights out in an hour but an action in our own way. Adults should set an example to their children, community and start in their family.
This year 2011, the World Wildlife Fund is back for its 3rd year run of Earth Hour and it will happen on Saturday March 26, 2011 at 8:30pm anywhere in the world in their local time. They are also launching "Beyond the hour", thus adding this years logo with the plus sign. This will be a platform where ideas could be shared by the community around the world to preserve and inspire towards positive action. c",)
