Patio de Conchita, Intramuros

I rarely go to Intramuros, Manila since it was far from our place and we don't have some business here but Meds let me taste the food from this restaurant called Patio de Conchita. It was located near the Manila Cathedral and since we are here to pay honor for our late former president Cory Aquino, we took our lunch first before engaging several hours of waiting to see her for the very last time.

The place was cozy with an indoor and outdoor dining area. It was like an apartment made into a restaurant. It has four floors which the ground floor and the second floor occupies the restaurant and the rest was already residential. Natural light comes in during the day and according to Meds during the night, warm light occupies the place. Some indoor tables and chairs are made of antique dining table and chairs but some are mono blocks. The outdoor setting was with metal park table and benches.

The presentation of the food was like a buffet but more of a "turo turo" setting, where as you pick what viand you want then they will reheat it not from a microwave as we normally see other restaurants reheat the food but they will reheat it using a pan and a gas range.

The plates are made from a local material which I think is rattan and they use banana leaves for the top layer of the plate. Meds told me that the restaurant's specialty was the "isaw" (pig's intestines) so she ordered that and I ordered "sinigang na baboy" (sour soup pork). We both got buko juice for our drinks.

The "isaw" was great and tasted like the "chicharon" version of it but this one is more flavorful anf juicy. The "sinigang" was also great because of its sourness and it was really served hot unlike other restaurants who serve their soup cold. The cost of the food was PHP 100 to PHP 120 depending on the viand, the cups of rice and drinks you will order. I think this is a great place to chill out with friends because of its homey feeling. c",)
