Christmas is fast approaching and everyone is busy preparing for this event once a year even though our country faced numerous storms and floods for the past months. Filipinos are known to be happy people even though many trials and hardships are being given to us as a challenge and a part of life. There are still great things to be thankful for in spite of everything that happened this year.
Thinking of things to do during this season without spending much? Why not try to attend the most awaited fireworks display every year, The World Pyro Olympics 2009!
The 1st World Pyro Olympics was held last December of 2005 at Esplanade of the SM Mall of Asia. Since then it was the most thrilling event to watch for every year mostly every Christmas season.
*Final dates are different from what is shown on the video.
This year, it will be the first pyro musical competition in the Philippines, which means that each of the fireworks are going to be synchronized to the music, just like the firework displays in Disneyland.
It will be held on the The Fort Open Grounds, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig (behind Bonifacio High Street) on these following final dates:
November 21: Germany and China
November 28: Canada and Australia
December 05: Japan and Italy
December 12: South Korea and USA
December 19: Fellowship of the Fire and the Philippines
The gates will be opened around 2:30 PM but the fireworks will start around 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM respectively so better be early to reserve your spot and to avoid traffic. Drum & Bugle Competition will be at 4:00 PM.
Viewing is for FREE but of course there would be designated places which are not free and some areas will be blocked and will be prohibited.
Ticket prices are as follows:
PHP 200 - General Viewing Area
PHP 500 - Special Viewing Area
PHP 1,500 - VIP Area (seated and inclusive of dinner by Via Mare)
Season Pass is also available for those who wanted to attend all the event dates for:

Organizers said that you could park your cars anywhere near the venue like in Makati Area and McKinley Hill, shuttle will be provided to transport people to the event but I'm not sure if its for free or with a fee.
*UPDATE:
The World Pyro Olympics 2009 was postponed to January 2010 due to the safety reasons they are considering for the firing site of the said event.
Ticket holders will still be honored on the new event dates that are still to be scheduled.
