Since Greenbelt 5 was opened to the public, we haven't had the chance to try some new restaurants there, so we hunt again for something new and unique until we passed by Mesa and learned that it was owned by the Pangilinans, knowing that the La Mesa Grill in Trinoma and SM Mall of Asia are theirs too.
We are also strucked by their interiors because it was dimmed and seems like it was all Filipino inspired.
When we tried to browse the menu of Mesa, we thought that they just serve common Filipino cuisine but when we saw their unique specialty like the ostrich which we never had before we gave in to our curiosity. Unlucky for us, the ostrich in not yet available since they just opened a few days ago.
For our appetizer, I ordered Hito Flakes on Spoon (PHP 180). At first I didn't told Karlo what was this and he thought that it was squid flakes until he finished half of the 10 spoons.
For our rice, we had Bagoong Rice (PHP 135). You could just eat this and nothing else because it comes with pork cubes and Indian mango slices.
We also tried the Two ways Laing (PHP 120), which is served with coconut milk while the other one is served crispy.
I was having a hard time choosing a viand since they offer more than the usual. Out of curiosity, I ordered the Caramelized Garlic Pork (PHP 190), which was good to taste but sorry to say that I was like I was fed up by the taste of the garlic. For drinks, you may order bottomless iced tea or lemonade (PHP 65).
You may have the option to eat outside with a view of the garden. Try to visit them at the ground floor of Greenbelt 5. c",)
