Chocolate Hills, Bohol

Chocolate Hills

Many of us had only seen the Chocolate Hills in post cards since we were young. There are also some legends on how it was formed but to see it for real is breathtaking.

Bohol became a tourist spot because of this magnificent work of nature. The Chocolate Hills is located at the center of Bohol. There are almost 1,270 perfectly cone-shaped hills. Almost all of the hills are only covered with green grass which turns brown during the dry season. The tallest hill was turned into a viewing deck and the other hill beside it was made into a resort. Some of the souvenir shops and food houses are located there.

Chocolate Hills from afar

Even if you don't go to Carmen where most of the hills are located, the hills are scattered throughout the other towns which are not that obvious because of the trees growing on it.

Stairs going to the viewing deck

There are no entrance fees for the viewing deck. To reach the top of the viewing deck, you have the option to take the stairs or to take the ramp for easier access. Along the stairs, there are some gazebos where you could take a rest or simply enjoy the scenery. At the top there is a bell above the well. There are no shades covering the top but there are few trees at the center around the well. The lower view deck was more shady because they made it as a processing center for pictures taken by some photographers in the area.

Can you count them all?

The Chocolate Hills is a must-see in Bohol because it would not only amaze you but would make you proud that indeed the world is such a beautiful place to explore and live in. This place is definitely worth seeing. c",)
