Earth Hour 2010
In the Philippines, the ranging heat is on because of the El NiƱo phenomenon. The summer season usually enters by the month of March but this year, it was earlier. According to the news, Manila may experience the 40 degree Celsius temperature. Water from the dams are drying, there's no rain too. Even the seeding of the clouds that is done by the government doesn't work anymore because there are no enough clouds to hold the salt to.
Mount Pulag: Ambangeg Trail, Benguet
Corregidor Island
I had never been to this is island before. All I know is that it is just one island of the Philippines and it is located somewhere near Bataan. It has also played a historically rich role during the American and Japanese invasion.
Mountain of Salvation
I was invited by my Aunt to go to this place located at the top of a mountain. It was called the Mountain of Salvation. When we reached the place, we have to park our car far enough from the venue because there are no parking lots available for those who wants to visit the place. So we just parked our car beside the dirt road. The road was still in progress and it was just dug from the ground.
Mt Samat, Bataan
I never knew that the cross in Mount Samat was very huge unless I have seen it personally. This cross is considered as a tourist spot here in Pilar, Bataan because of its historical value and was built as a war memorial of the American and Japanese occupation.
La Mesa Ecopark
I was excited to go here since it was far from our place and it was already featured on several TV shows. It was nice to know that even though it was a watershed it was open to the public. The people could help preserve this remaining forest and preserve the only water source in Manila. The people could benefit from this too because of the cleaner air that it produce and the serene and quiet place that it could give.
Hidden Treasure Beach Resort, Pagudpud
Another attraction in Pagudpud was the Hidden Treasure Beach Resort, which was really hidden from civilization because it was the only resort in the place and no other establishments were present. It was like a jail far enough that you couldn't escape right away.
Kaibigan Falls, Pagudpud
One of the attractions of Pagudpud is the Kaibigan Falls. It is a 30 minute walk from the national road. There is a store near the national road where you have to pay an entrance fee for the maintenance of the place which is PHP 20 plus a tour guide which is required to have while going there.
Tuyom a.k.a Sea Urchin
Warning: The following images maybe disturbing to others, viewer discretion is advised.Sea urchins are widely found throughout the island of Cebu and its surrounding islands. It is locally known as "tuyom" in Cebuano or Bisayan language. You could found them near the shore or at the deepest side of the ocean. Their sting is very painful, trust me. I've been a victim of these creatures.
Pinatubo Spa Town
I thought when we reached the Pinatubo Spa Town that was the start of the walking process and thinking that we didn't sign up for a spa experience. Little did we know that preparations and registrations were held here.
Mt. Pinatubo Trekking
After two times of planning, finally our Mt Pinatubo pushed through. Mt. Pinatubo per se is not visible from afar. It borders the provinces of Zambales, Pampanga and Tarlac. It was made famous because of its eruption last June 1991, which the effects of it were felt worldwide. So it was thought in school but we haven't seen it personally that's why we pay a visit.
Virgin Island, Cebu
The Virgin Island is privately owned by the Villa Carlos family, which is a 20 to 30 minute boat ride from Bantayan Island.
Ogtong Cave Resort, Bantayan Island, Cebu
Bulaklak Beach Resort, Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro
It is located at the town of Pili Pili, Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro. I think it is the only sandy place located in Pinamalayan since the other coastlines was already composed of rocks. It was like a hidden beach place because the main road leading to it was above the beach proper, making you to go down the slope to see the beach.
