Virgin Island, Cebu

The Virgin Island is privately owned by the Villa Carlos family, which is a 20 to 30 minute boat ride from Bantayan Island.

During the vacation weeks or during holiday season, the island is close to the public because the family will use it.

Almost three fourths of the island is rocky and the remaining shore has its fine white sand.

Rocky shore of the island

The sea water here is so clear that you could swim together with the fishes.

Previously, there was a pearl sanctuary near the island but was destroyed by a typhoon.

There is an entrance fee for those who want to swim here PHP 50 for female and PHP 55 for male. You could use the grilling/cooking area, the nipa huts, the hammocks and use the volleyball court for free.

There are no lifeguards since it is privately owned. The only people in the island is the caretaker and his family.

There is no way you could rinse yourself after taking a dip from the sea water since water source of the island is from the rain water only.

The house is surrounded with huge clay jars that serves their water container, which I thought they are making some "bagoong" (shrimp paste) or vinegar.

There are a lot of dogs in the island so better keep an eye on your food. You should also brought out what you brought in the island. You may ask the boat man to bring you here if you want. c",)
