Bato Spring Resort, San Pablo, Laguna

San Pablo is the only city blessed with seven lakes but aside from that, it was also gifted with natural spring like the Bato Spring Resort. Nestled on the road going to Dolores, Quezon, this hidden natural wonder didn't failed us to be amazed and be refreshed by its invigorating cold waters.

Big signs would lead you here if you are coming from the national highway. Trees would be everywhere when you entered giving you a creepy forest feel. We thought that the place was already permanently closed because the last time my officemate went here was on her 6th grade. Fortunately, the water was maintained clean, clear and even better with some improvements and developments the last time she was been here.

The entrance fee was 70 pesos per person both for adults and kids during weekdays and 80 pesos during weekends or holidays. For an overnight stay, 125 pesos per person. You may have an option to rent some of their tables and one of their cottages depending on your needs.

The Bato Spring Resort was a man-made resort although its water really comes from a natural river from the mountains of Mount Banahaw and Mount Cristobal. The owners made it for the convenience of the swimmers but preserved its natural habitat by allowing it to naturally pour below the huge stones. The flow of water was also diverted to other parts of the pool to have an effect of water coming out like a spring.

This was the highlight of the pool, the falls coming from the side where adults could use the free flowing water as a natural massager. The farther from the source the lighter pressure you'll get.

The divider has its use because the depth of this pool was only two to three feet making it child friendly but still should be with adult supervision.

The bigger pool was located above the falls, big enough for every one who will visit the place but depends on the season, which could make it crowded too.

The water was really cold as ice but becomes relaxing and tolerable afterwards. Strictly no running as natural algae already grew on the rocks which makes it really slippery. No diving and jumping signs are everywhere too. You may rent an inflatable tire as a floater for those who doesn't know to swim for 10 pesos, yours all day.

The big pool is 4 feet deep near the statue of Mother Mary and 5 feet deep on the wider side. Trees here acts as a shade and brings cold breeze too making you not notice what time of the day it is.

Below the Mother Mary statue was a cave-like structure which has a creepy feeling at first but in the long end a good place to stay and kill time because you could just sit inside or just feel the drops of water from the falls.

There's also a mini pool at the upper side of the big pool.

Eating is prohibited within the pool area to preserve its cleanliness because after the water bypass the big and the small pool its journey still continues below.

This was located near the parking lot and according to one staff was still being developed. The water here was only up to your ankle.

Before you reach the parking lot a modern pool would be up-fronting the resort where the water had its free flow to from the big and small pool above.

This is a great place for family outings, away from the busy and stressful day at work and school. Even great for nature lovers or bonding moments with friends. Special events may also be held here because they have an open function hall.

The resort still had space for developments and improvements when comes to their cottages and facilities. New toilets were also built but they could still improve their old toilets, which had a very low head ceiling and filthy tiles. It was like their own version of Hidden Valley in Calauan, Laguna. Good job for the management for preserving the trees, the cleanliness of the water and their place. c",)

Bato Spring is one of the nicest resorts in the Philippines. I've been there when I was in high school and I could say that there's a lot of changes there. I want to visit that place again and hopefully it will happen soon. Thanks.
