White Beach, Puerto Galera 6 years After!

As I have said, its been six years ago since I stepped at the sands of White Beach, Puerto Galera and wondering if there were some or major changes that happened here or just stayed the same 6 years ago. But for sure nothing escapes from the possibility of change.

Upon arrival, one thing I noticed was the boats, they only park at both ends of the White Beach making space for the people to swim and enjoy the water without the dangers of the arriving and departing boats.

Next was the crowd, before I only noticed the more locals and some foreigners invade the White Beach but now it seems that more foreigners specially the Koreans flocked the area, a plus points for tourism.

Third, was the banana boat. Before, you could ride banana boats from various beach front resort owners but now it seems that they all agreed to have only one banana boat station at the middle of White Beach where the only life guard station is located.

Fourth was the cemented walk way, which separates the sandy shore to the resorts plus the additional yellow picnic tables from one end to the other of the White Beach. Even some of the resort buildings were extended and had additional rooms to accommodate more tourists.

Fifth, it was cleaner now. Unlike, 6 years ago when after the night parties trash could be seen along the sands and shore. Even the broken glasses of beer and the sticks from the grilled street foods were everywhere before.

Dancing. It's More Fun in The Philippines!

Sixth, was the fire dance. During our one night stay there were 3 sets of shows who did fire dancing. A latest addition from the dance floors of White Beach which had nightly party-like ambiance and a candle light dinner along the picnic tables.

Here's a long video of the fire dance:

It's a great feeling that I was able to go back here after 6 years of going somewhere else. This place was memorable to me because this was the first place where me and my friends had our first out of town trips, life chit chats and everything in between.

It's a great feeling too that White Beach had improved and better than ever. More tourists and more local jobs for the people of Puerto Galera. One thing I also noticed is that they still don't serve service water from the vast variety of restaurants and water is indeed expensive. c",)
